Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, two neighboring countries in Central Asia, boast rich histories, diverse cultures, and unique geopolitical positions. Despite sharing similar linguistic roots and historical backgrounds, these nations have taken different paths since gaining independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. Let’s delve into the key aspects that distinguish Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, ranging from their economies and political systems to their cultures and societal norms.
Day 1.Sunday. Arrival to Almaty.
Day 2. Monday : Almaty
Sightseeing around Almaty includes visiting of Panfilov Park, Zenkov Cathedral, National Musical Instruments Museum, Central State Museum, Medeo. The name of the Panfilov Park comes after the heroes of Panfilov. Inside the park there is a big monument in commemoration of the heroic actions made by 28 Almaty Soldiers who died back in 1941 fighting against Nazi tanks somewhere near Moscow. Zenkov Wooden constructed Cathedral is one of the eight most unique wooden buildings in the world. It is one of the few tzarist-era buildings to survive the 1911 earthquake, despite the fact it is built entirely of wood and constructed without nails. Central State Museum provides an introduction to Kazakhstan’s history and includes a miniature replica of the country’s chief archeological treasure, the Golden Man – a warrior’s costume made from 4.000 gold pieces, many finely decorated with animal motifs. In the Museum of Musical Instruments one can find various national musical instruments, the oldest of which are dated from the XVII century. Medeo is a picturesque valley located 15 km above Almaty. Besides beautiful nature there are some other attractions to see, one of which is the world’s largest speed skating ring known as Medeo. Transfer to a hotel in the end of city tour. Day 3. Tuesday: Almaty
In the morning visit the Uzbek embassy to obtain a double entry visa. Continue the sightseeing of Almaty.

Day 4. Wednesday: Almaty – Ashuu 350 kms
After breakfast depart Almaty and drive to Chon-Kemin valley via a newly built highway, see the natural landscapes on the way, afternoon arrive to Chon-Kemin valley. Lunch at the local restaurant en-route.
Upon arrival we explore the village, hike up to the panoramic view of Kalmak-Ashuu valley.
Chon-Kemin Valley, which lies within the Tian Shan mountain range separating Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan with lush green valleys and snow-capped peaks.
In the evening, experience true Kyrgyz hospitality with a traditional Vodka party dinner.
We spend a night in one of the local guesthouses, fully decorated with antique embroidery, handicrafts and felts, with modern facilities.

Day 5. Thursday : Chon-Kemin valley – Djety-Oguz – Karakol 330 km
Drive to Karakol.
En route stop at an impressive Djety Oguz gorge, the Gorge of 7 Red Rocks. This is the most beautiful gorge in Kyrgyzstan, here you have a chance to hike around the canyon.
Djety Oguz gorge is a lush green valley with striking red sandstone rock formations – the ‘Seven Bulls’ from which the valley takes its name.
Arrival in Karakol. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Green Yard hotel or similar.

Day 6 Friday: Karakol – Grigoryevka Gorge – Issykul 200 km
Breakfast at the hotel. Sightseeing of Karakol.
Karakol is one of the first towns of the Russian Cossack settlements in the late 19th century. We will visit Dungan (a pagoda type of mosque) of 1907 and an Orthodox wooden Church of late 19th Century. You will enjoy walking along streets with blue-framed windows and gingerbread-style houses and stop at Przevalski’s Memorial Museum, named for a great Russian explorer from the late 19th century.
After lunch in Karakol we will drive to drive to Chon-Aksu (Grigoryevka gorge). Hiking exploration. Later continue driving to Issykul Lake.
Dinner and overnight in hotel.
Day 7 Saturday. – Issykul Lake – Burana tower – Bishkek 270 km
Drive to Bishkek. En-route stop at Burana tower.
It is an 11th century minaret, and one of the first buildings of such type in Central Asia. Burana tower was one of the capitals of Karakhanid khanate. In Karakhanids’ time new towns and settlements were developing and Burana tower, mausoleums and other buildings found after archeological excavations are the witnesses of that build up. Return to Bishkek.
Upon arrival city tour of Bishkek. Today you can enjoy quite a number of typical soviet-style architecture (Philharmonic – concert hall, government building, Monument of the Great War heroes) and modern monuments pointing out the traditional Kyrgyz culture (Monument of Manas). The city is famous being one of the greenest in Central Asia, due to its countless parks and alleys, which make the town a nice place to live also in the heat of the summer.

Day 8 Sunday – Bishkek – Airport 35 km
In the morning transfer to the aiport to board the flight Bishkek-Dushanbe (1 hr).End of services.
